So, while I was in Chicago, I learned a lot about the homeless. Did you know that the average homeless person is 9 years old? This is because a lot of the time, it's families that become homeless. And, when they go to shetlers, the families tend to get split up. Someitmes, they don't even let boys over 12 stay in the shelter for fear of gang activity. Also, if you looked at the average homeless person, you wouldn't assume they were homeless. Anyone can be homeless.
I talked to a homeless man, and he told me that he never expected himself to become homeless. From Park Avenue to Park Bench is where he went. He lived the high life, and then he lost it. He said something that made me think. He said that anyone can become homeless. He never expected himself to be homeless when he was my age, but there he was in a shelter. He also said that when doing something, you have to do it for yourself, and not anyone else.
So, what are your opinions on the homeless?
